Armstrong, who lived in Salt Lake City, burst into the online scene in the early 2000s and became a trailblazing blogger, openly discussing her issues with parenting, depression, and alcoholism. Her death was reported today on her Instagram page.

Since 2001, Armstrong has been one of the first mommy bloggers,’ to chronicle her difficulties with depression and parenthood. She participated in extreme experiments to try to alleviate her despair, including signing up to be rendered brain-dead ten times and writing about it in the 2020 book, The Valedictorian of Death. Dear Daughter and It Sucked Then I Cried are two of her previous novels.
‘On October 8th, 2021 I celebrated six months of sobriety by myself on the floor next to my bed feeling as if I were a wounded animal who wanted to be left alone to die,’ she wrote in an April 6 blog post – her final entry. There was no one in my life who could possibly know how symbolic a victory it was for me, although one plagued with tears and sobbing so fierce that I believed my body would split in two at one point. The anguish engulfed me in tidal waves of agony. It was difficult for me to breathe for a few hours.’
