Harry Purcell, 17, and Matilda Seccombe, 16, died shortly afterward in the hospital. Frank Wormald, 16, passed away on Sunday. A fourth boy is being treated in the hospital.
The fourth individual in the car, identified by the school’s headmaster as Edward Spencer, 17, is still in stable condition, according to Warwickshire Police. A friend and former student at the Gloucestershire school where the teenagers attended started the internet appeal. In commemoration of the crash fatalities, classmates plan to run the Oxford Half Marathon on October 15.
The proceeds from the charity challenge will go to Midlands Air Ambulance. We three teenagers will do everything we can to help this service save as many lives as possible so that close communities like ours do not have to suffer with loss,” the fundraising stated. Three schoolmates aged 17 and 16 died in a terrible accident on the way home
A family friend remembers Frank Wormald’s “cheeky but always respectful” approach when paying tribute to him. School principal John Sanderson stated in a letter to parents that the school flag would be flown at half-mast. There are no words that I can find to express the sense of loss that we feel,” he explained. The four teens were driving home from school in a Ford Fiesta when they collided with a Fiat 500 on the B4035 Campden Road at 16:10 BST.
According to West Midlands Ambulance Service, the passengers of the Fiat 500, a lady and two children, were brought to hospital with significant injuries. They are still in hospital in a stable condition, according to Warwickshire Police. Officers said they were looking into several possible causes of the incident and requested witnesses to come forward. “Specialist officers are carrying out a detailed investigation to piece together the circumstances of the collision, and we are working with our partner agencies and the local authority,” Insp Michael Huntley said.
