Sunday, when the suspect’s mother entered her son’s bedroom to investigate a “distinctive gas odor.” Inside, the woman found the disturbing crime scene with Collins’ body wrapped in plastic. Collins declared dead. The son of the owner of the house was not in sight at the time of the horrible find. It was not clear how long the 30-year-old victim had been in that room. Collins had just celebrated her birthday two weeks ago, according to information released by the coroner’s office, which described the deceased as a Caucasian woman. Los Angeles police have launched a homicide investigation, but officials have kept quiet about its progress when asked by The Post. There were no arrests as of Tuesday morning.
