Hailey Silas‘ body was found around 7 a.m. Saturday as the barge crew conducted an inspection while traveling down the Mississippi River near Shelby Forest in Tennessee, WREG reported. Less than a week earlier, the 22-year-old mother was arrested for calling 911 multiple times Sunday from a gas station across from the Southland Casino, according to the outlet. She reportedly asked authorities to take her out of West Memphis, Arkansas, because she was afraid of something and she was suffering a “panic attack.” After Silas was taken to a station in handcuffs, she asked to speak to her parents, saying she was scared and confused, according to WREG. It was not immediately clear what she was afraid of, but the young mother also asked to be taken to a “psychiatry ward,” according to the report. She pleaded guilty Wednesday of last week to a misdemeanor charge of communicating a false alarm and she received a suspended sentence of time served, according to records cited by the outlet.

Cause of Death
A psychological evaluation report was also presented but its contents were not revealed. Her body was found three days after her guilty plea. It was unclear what brought the Luther, Oklahoma, resident to the Arkansas-Tennessee border, but the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office does not believe foul play was involved, WREG reported. Authorities said no identification was found for Silas, but his mother, LaRena Darrow, claimed someone had her phone. She said that when she tried to call him, she was answered by a man she did not know. “And I said, ‘This is my daughter’s profile, what are you doing on it?’ And he said, ‘Well, I’m sorry, Hailey doesn’t have a phone anymore,'” Darrow told the outlet. “I don’t want to think about my baby getting hurt like that and no one being there to save her or help her,” she said. “I have no idea. I talked to her on Thursday night and she sent me a couple of photos of her on a bridge and she looked very happy. “And she was about to go sing karaoke and that was the last time.” “I spoke to her,” the grieving mother added. “She was an incredible mother. My grandson is missing out on such a wonderful person. She was an angel.” The incident, including the cause of Silas’ death, remains under investigation.
