Trot singer Haesoo reportedly died at the age of 29 after leaving a suicide note behind. A media site stated on May 15th that the organizers notified them that the singer, who was supposed to perform at the Gwanjumyeon People’s Day event in Wanju Gun, Jeollabuk-do on May 20th, had died. On May 13, South Korean police reported finding the body of a female trot singer in her 30s in an apartment complex, along with a suicide note. The authorities found no evidence of foul play in the case and ruled it a suicide because the singer had left a letter.
Haesoo was 29 years old.

Because of her connection to trot music, it is suspected that the body discovered belonged to Haesoo. The fact that the comment area on her very active Instagram account was switched off on May 14 lent fuel to the story of her death. On her social media sites, the singer remained very interactive and communicated with her fans on a daily basis.
Who was Haesoo?
Haesoo was born in 1993 and attended the Korea National University of Arts, where she majored in Pansori, a sort of Korean traditional music. She then discovered her interest in trot after listening to the music of musician Joo Hyun Mi. In 2019, she launched her debut album, My Life, Myself. Gayo Stage, Morning Yard, The Trot Show, How Do You Play, and KBS TV2’s Lunar New Year special in January 2023 were among the music shows in which the trot singer appeared.
