Greg Bear is a well-known hard science fiction author. At the age of fifteen, he sold his first story to the famous science fiction Robert Lowndes. After being on life support for two days and not waiting for him to recover, his life support was turned off as per his progressive directive. Bear’s wife recently revealed that he had been experiencing a number of health problems, indicating that he had just suffered a stroke and had lost consciousness while being treated at the hospital. Astrid Bear acknowledged that her husband’s care team thought it doubtful that he would regain consciousness and that even if he did, he would likely require extensive medical attention.
