George Sawyer Wiki – Bio

George Sawyer, 18, was crossing the A64 just before 1:20am when he was struck by a BMW as he was crossing a main road in the early hours of the morning, on Monday March 27. George, who was from Farnley Tyas in Kirklees, has been named today by his bereaved family.

Police Investigation

George’s family also posted a photo of him as police continue their investigations into the tragedy. The black BMW was traveling on the carriageway heading east when George was struck, North Yorkshire Police said. The driver, a man in his 40s, is assisting with the investigation, police said. It happened between the A659 to Tadcaster and the A1237 to Askham Bryan near York, with emergency services rushing to the scene and the road being closed for hours.
