George Lund Wiki – George Lund Biography
George Lund, a 14-year-old boy who drowned in a canal after plunging into it during the Easter bank holiday weekend has been photographed. George Lund, 14, was strolling along the towpath with his girlfriend when he fell into the River Aire at George Mann Road in Hunslet, Yorkshire, on Saturday around 4.30 pm. Sam Buckham, who was laying flowers near the canal this morning, explained that George jumped in the water as an Easter prank on the warm Spring afternoon, thinking he’d be able to quickly get out of the frigid water. She claimed that a barge had recently passed through the lock, causing a strong current to form when the lock refilled with water, making it difficult for George to swim to safety.
George Lund Age

Mrs. Buckham added that he had been attempting to reach a ladder that led from the river to the elevated towpath, but had been thwarted by the current.’He emerged to the surface briefly and then fell below, and his girlfriend screamed for rescue,’ she explained. ‘I love and miss you so much, my darling baby son,’ said George’s distraught mother, Stacie Lund. I simply need you back.’ Samantha Lowe, George’s aunt, described his death as “traumatic and heartbreaking.”
‘As many of you know, my nephew George tragically died,’ she said. ‘I stood there watching water specialists, paramedics, and firefighters struggle to find him under the water, hoping he’d still be alive when they found him, but he wasn’t.’Seeing my mother and sister break down, practically falling to the floor with grief! It was terrible; they shouldn’t have to do this.’He was only 14 when he discovered his first love and everything! He would show me his school books and how well he was doing every time I went to my mother’s house, bless him. He has the rest of his life ahead of him! Flowers, cards, and a teddy bear were left at the spot today, near a rowing club and the city of Leeds sea cadets.
