Gamaliel Soza was arrested Monday at his Miami residence after police discovered his text messages to Jazmín Páez, 18, who was arrested last month for soliciting a hit against her own son on a parody website. reports NBC 6. “The boy is the problem, I hope you see that all he ever wanted was to free you,” he allegedly texted Soza. “I told you about the boy, you won’t do anything…do it and I’ll think about coming back.” Messages between the two also revealed that Páez may have tried to have his son “eaten by bears” in the forest or tried to “drown him in water.” Soza’s arrest report shows that he demanded photographs as proof that Paez carried out the crime. Páez eventually moved on torentahitman.com, where the website’s owner, Robert Innes, reported it to the police after believing the hit request was serious compared to the hundreds of parodies he sees every day.

Miami man accused of attempting to hire a hitman to kill child
Unlike other requests, the one Páez allegedly sent included photographs of his son and details about his exact location for a hit to occur, according to court records. After confirming that the request to kill the child for $3,000 came from Paez’s computer, police arrested her on July 18 and she remains in custody at the Miami-Dade jail. Like Páez, Soza was charged with conspiracy to murder in the first degree and unlawful use of a communication device. He was held on $15,000 bail and ordered not to have unsupervised contact with the 3-year-old or anyone under 18. A representative for Soza y Páez could not immediately be reached for comment. Police said the boy has been placed in the custody of relatives, and the Florida Department of Children and Families is monitoring the case. Reacting to the latest arrest in the case, Innes told NBC 6: “It sucks, man, it’s a really bad story to begin with. The fact that the website was able to prevent a violent crime and save a life is…that’s what makes it worth it to me. “At least the kid is going to be okay.”
