Valentini was competing in the Paraná State Velocross Championship in Brazil on March 5 when the accident occurred. The 17-year-old bike enthusiast was struck by her spinning motorcycle after flying over the handlebars.
Spectators had seen Valentini’s bike lurch out of control a few seconds earlier. The medical team that was present at the race in the town of Lapa intervened with her first aid to save her life as she lay unconscious on the dirt track. She was then rushed to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries.

The Paraná State Motorcycle Federation issued a statement after the tragedy. It said: “Gabriela leaves her name in the gallery of winning pilots in the discipline, in Paraná, and in Brazil.
“The organization, through its president Gilberto Rosa, expresses in this moment of loss and pain, solidarity with family, friends, and admirers.
“In the face of this tragedy, we make ourselves available to help in whatever way we can. May God comfort everyone’s hearts.”
