Frank Vallelonga Jr., the “Green Book” actor whose body was discovered abandoned in the Bronx in late November, died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl and cocaine, according to municipal officials on Monday. Vallelonga, 60, was discovered dead outside a sheet metal fabrication facility in Hunts Point shortly before 4 a.m. on Nov. 28, according to police. The municipal Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Monday that the actor died as a result of “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of fentanyl and cocaine,” according to a ME representative.

Smith charged with concealment of a human corpse

Steven Smith, 35, was charged the next day with concealing a human corpse. Cops alleged at the time that they possessed a video of Smith dumping the actor’s body from a car and that he later confessed but denied any involvement in the crime. Smith has now been charged, but he has yet to appear in court, according to the Bronx District Attorney. “A warrant has been issued, and he will be arraigned on an indictment when he is picked up,” a spokesman for the office said.
