Frank Farrell, 38, a convicted murderer was held responsible for a string of rapes against two women. Frank denied four counts of rape and six counts of actual bodily harm committed between 2009 and 2015. However, a jury delivered guilty verdicts on all charges at Leicester Crown Court.
Farrell was convicted of Smita Mistry’s murder in 2021 and is currently serving a life sentence with a minimum period of 24 years. According to the testimony during the trial, Farrell was in a relationship with the women and was initially friendly and attentive. However, he gradually turned violent, especially when they refused to have sex with him.

Frank Farrell: Murderer found guilty of rape and assault
The jury delivered unanimous judgments on all but one of the charges, with a 10-to-two majority on a single count of actual bodily injury. Restrictions that prevented his murder conviction from being reported during his trial have now been relaxed. Ms. Mistry was discovered dead in her home in Gedge Way, Leicester, by officers, and a post-mortem examination revealed various injuries to her head, face, and chest. She died as a result of an internal abdominal hemorrhage induced by blunt-force trauma. According to authorities, witnesses and CCTV footage located Farrell at the address and showed a confrontation between them. Police located and contacted the two female rape and assault victims during the murder investigation.
Ms Mistry’s father remarked in a tribute, “Smita was my only child, she was active and bubbly with an infectious smile.” She was a good person with a kind and gentle soul who meant no harm to anyone.” All she wanted in life was to be loved and cared for, as well as to have a stable family life. Smita’s death has left me heartbroken and empty. I can’t imagine what she must have gone through or the grief she must have felt. She was brutally beaten and murdered.” She must have died in horrifying conditions, which is too horrible to contemplate.”
Farrell is scheduled to be sentenced on May 22.
