Francisco Oropez WIki – Francisco Oropez Biography
Francisco Oropez is accused of murdering and shooting five of his neighbors, including an 8-year-old child, in their Cleveland, Texas, house after they requested him to cease firing shots in his yard. The suspect, 38-year-old Francisco Oropez, allegedly went to the residence on Walters Road in the Trails End area at 11:30 p.m. Friday and opened fire, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities are on the lookout for the culprit, whom they believe has departed the country. The sheriff’s office claimed in a Facebook post on Saturday that four of the victims were found dead inside the house. The child passed away in a hospital. According to authorities, deputies were called to the home in response to a harassment report.
“While en route, the communications center received multiple 911 calls of an active shooter incident at the dispatch location,” the agency said. According to Sheriff Greg Capers, the deceased victims were all from Honduras and ranged in age from 8 to 40. They were placed in the living room, a bedroom, and near the front door. Three minors were transported to the hospital.

Man fatally shot 5 neighbors, including a child, at Texas home after they complained about gunfire
Sheriff Capers stated that they were “covered in blood” but unharmed. He told reporters that two ladies who were killed in the bedroom were lying over some of the children who survived. Two other people in the house were evaluated on the scene and released, according to the sheriff’s office. A warrant was issued for the suspect, a Mexican national, and a judge set bail at $5 million. He is charged with five counts of murder. Sheriff Capers told reporters that the suspect had a habit of firing his gun in his front yard.
One of the victims came outside shortly before the shooting and told the suspect that their infant was attempting to sleep, he said to a local ABC 13 reporter. “The man said I’ll shoot out in my front yard and do whatever I want in my own house,” Capers explained. The Texas Rangers were called in to help with the investigation. In the aftermath of the incident, the San Jacinto County Democratic Party announced that it would cancel a previously scheduled annual fundraiser on Saturday night and instead organize a prayer vigil for the victims.
“The horrific events that occurred last night have devastated San Jacinto County,” said John Michael Adams, Chair of the San Jacinto County Democratic Party, in a statement. “We’ve decided that it no longer made sense to hold our annual fundraiser tonight, but we still felt we needed to come together as a community — however we could — and send our love and prayers to the loved ones of the victims of this senseless shooting.”
