Evadnie Smith, affectionately known as “Nanny V,” died together with Adina Azarian, 49, and her two-year-old daughter Aria when a twin-engine Cessna Citation owned by rich entrepreneur John Rumpel crashed in a rural area of southwest Virginia on Sunday.
After approaching restricted airspace over Washington, D.C. on Sunday afternoon, the plane was stopped by two F-16 fighter fighters. According to aviation officials, the plane looked to be on autopilot and the pilot was disabled. The plane went down in the Shenandoah Valley, killing all four passengers on board. She went above and beyond for Aria and Adina, and I recently asked Adina, ‘Now that Aria’s in [pre-]school, what will happen to Nanny V now that Aria’s in [pre-]school?'”
“‘Nanny V will always remain a part of our family,’ she said. She will never abandon us. ‘She’ll be with us forever.'” Nanny V had been working for Adina for a number of years, according to Castilo.

She’s very much a part of my family now because she’s there every day. Unfortunately, I had to break the bad news to her that her sister had passed. “It’s devastating.”
