A series of viral photos showed the rat floating above the pot while the jellybean appeared to be a restaurant vegetable. Eunice Lucero-Lee claims she found a rat in soup she bought at a restaurant in Koreatown that she has seen for decades.

“If there was a rat that big, there’s no way I wouldn’t have missed it,” Gamiok wrote in an Instagram post with surveillance video from the kitchen showing workers preparing soup. They added: “We reviewed the entire process of making the soup, but we did not find any problems.”

The restaurant slammed the couple and cited their Yelp account, which they say contained another complaint against a restaurant made in 2016 when they found a “big bug” in their soup. The restaurant wrote: ‘This is a rare experience for most people in their entire lives. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing for most people.”

When Gamiock first received Lucero-Lee’s complaints, she allegedly offered the couple a refund and a “$100 gift card in an effort to remedy customer complaints by always keeping a low profile.” But the restaurant alleges that the couple demanded $5,000 to pay for hospital bills. They added that the requested amount later reached $25,000.

Records from the New York City Department of Health show that Gamiok received 15 violations during his last inspection on Jan. 18. Despite Gamiok’s pushback, Lucero-Lee urged people to avoid the restaurant at all costs. Lucero-Lee warned on Instagram: ‘Please don’t go there for your own safety.

Multiple violations demonstrated that the restaurant lacked proper sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness protocols. One violation listed the health concern of ‘food/waste/wastewater associated with flies or other nuisance pests in food and/or non-food areas of the establishment (FRSA). “FRSA flies include house flies, blow flies, bottle flies, meat flies, drain flies, phorid flies, and fruit flies,” the violation reads.

In addition to the poor ‘C’ review rating, the restaurant seems to have quite a few fans on Yelp, who find their food perfect for ‘late night’.
