Eui Min Ko Wiki – Eui Min Ko Bio

Eui Min Ko, Prominent Taekwondo Trainer/Coach, Has Passed Away. This sad news was confirmed by Gerard Robbins on social media and the message reads:

THE LOSS OF A LEGEND”, The Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame is extremely saddened to announce the passing of our beloved member GM Eui. He was one of the best trainers and coaches for the Korean National Team during the early years of international competition. Two of the highlights of his career were winning the 1st Asian Taekwondo Championships held in Kukkiwon in 1974 and the 2nd World Taekwondo Championships held in 1975. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and students all over the world. May he rest in eternal peace in the loving embrace of our Creator.

Eui-Min was born in 1942 in the city of Asan, 80 km from the Korean capital, Seoul. At that time, Korea was still under Japanese occupation. Colonial rule ended with the surrender of Japan in 1945. Eui is the coach/teacher of modern Taekwondo. He had 50 years of experience and the influence of Korean philosophy. He was known as  9th degree Former Korean national coach, World’s Head Coach, Technical Director of – World Taekwondo Federation (2004-2008), and Technical Delegate at – Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Age

Eui Min Ko was 81 years old.

Cause of Death

Eui Min suffered from Pneumonia and Cardiovascular disease. He passed away on the night of January 21, 2023 due to heart failure at the age of 81.
