Erin Gilbert Wiki – Erin Gilbert Biography
Erin Gilbert, 42, the woman brutally murdered on Easter Sunday was thousands of dollars in debt and facing eviction from her western Sydney home.
Erin Gilbert’s financial and housing problems have been revealed in court documents detailing her legal battles with two landlords. Just before midday, the 42-year-old was discovered dead in her flat amid a terrible and violent scene. There is no evidence that Ms. Gilbert’s financial issues contributed to her death. According to NCA NewsWire, her husband, Nicholas Gilbert, 38, discovered her body on a bed inside the home they shared.
He told 9 News that when he found his wife on her back in the bedroom, she appeared to be choking on blood. The 38-year-old claimed he attempted to resuscitate Ms. Gilbert and administer CPR, but she was already dead. Police questioned him and then released him without charge. The pair only moved to the region around seven months ago, according to police, but that was long enough for the Gilberts to become entangled in two legal fights over housing.
Erin Gilbert was 42 years old.
Rent issues before a gruesome murder were discovered
According to the documents, the married couple was battling their prior and current landlords over thousands of dollars in overdue rent. The Gilberts are ordered by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal to pay their landlords more than $8850 in back rent. The couple was evicted from their house on Victoria Rd in Parramatta in October after failing to pay more than $7780 in rent as per their rental agreement. Only a few months later, the Gilberts were compelled to pay more than $1060 in back rent on their current Merrylands house. Ms. Gilbert was discovered dead in her flat just days after the court mandate was issued. If she and her husband did not pay their rent on time, they would be evicted in July.
On Monday, forensic officers examined the blood-splattered flat, taking swabs of the metal balcony railing and the interior of the unit’s doorway. Bedsheets, a doona, and a sock were all discovered soaked with blood at the gruesome crime scene. As uniformed officers looked on, a group of officers clothed in blue hazmat suits sealed a number of things from the property into brown evidence bags. One bag was labeled “mascara found next to deceased on the bed in the bedroom” and was stacked against the unit block’s wall with at least five other bags. Police have begun a massive quest to find Ms. Gilbert’s murderers. Mr. Gilbert expressed his grief over the loss of his “better half” to 9 News. She just finished me; everything about her I miss,” he explained. She finished my sentences when I couldn’t think of anything to say.”
