Emma Delaney Hancock, a married former substitute teacher in Oklahoma, who is also thought to be the mayor’s daughter, is accused of kissing and emailing nudes to a 15-year-old student.
Emma Delaney Hancock, 26, a former teacher in the Wellston Public School district, began messaging the 15-year-old in October 2022 to bring him a school assignment, according to the criminal affidavit. Documents show that after a few weeks, the adolescent sent a shirtless selfie of himself to Hancock via Snapchat.
‘Are we sending half-naked images now?’ Hancock asked. ‘I don’t know, are we?’ says the teen. ‘Are you trying to get me to lose my job?’ she allegedly replied, according to the records. According to the affidavit, Hancock and the teen began exchanging naked images and videos of sex acts more often. This eventually led to Hancock and the teen kissing each other in class on two occasions. According to the court petition, Hancock is also accused of inappropriately touching the adolescent during the second kiss.

Hancock is married to Wellston Police Chief Alfred Hancock and is thought to be the daughter of Wellston Mayor Paul Whitnah. The instructor is charged with two charges of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a kid through the use of technology, as well as two counts of doing lewd or indecent actions on a child under the age of 16. According to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Charlie Dougherty, the 26-year-old appeared in court on Thursday before surrendering herself and securing a $50,000 bail bond before being freed.
Dougherty stated that because of Hancock’s friendship with the Wellston police chief, the Oklahoma State Bureau (OSBI) was asked to handle the inquiry to avoid conflict. According to the affidavit, the 15-year-old told a buddy about his contact with Hancock at one time. When the other student asked Hancock if this was real, she initially denied it but later admitted it was true, according to the affidavit.
She allegedly informed the student that it would ‘not amount to anything because they weren’t going to get caught.’ Residents in Wellston told News 9 that Hancock is Mayor Paul Whitnah’s daughter. DailyMail.com reached out to Whitnah and the Chief of Police for comment but did not receive a response right away. Wellston Public Schools Superintendent Mike Franz told the publication that Hancock was removed from the call list and barred from campus as soon as the district learned about the allegations in November. According to Franz, the district alerted authorities and cooperated with the inquiry.
