Ellen Shell, 38, A Danville woman was arrested and charged with third-degree rape on Wednesday. Ellen Shell is accused of having “sexual intercourse on three occasions with two 16-year-old boys,” according to the criminal complaint. According to the complaint, the alleged incidents occurred between July 6 and August 15, last year. On Thursday, Shell was arraigned in Garrard County District Court.

Shell is said to be a teacher’s helper at Danville’s Woodlawn Elementary School. She previously worked at Garrard County’s Lancaster Elementary School. LEX 18 reached out to Boyle County Schools for comment, but a district spokeswoman did not answer our call.
Yesterday, the superintendent of Boyle County Schools sent out a letter in which he stated that law enforcement advised the district of a legal problem involving improper behavior by a Woodlawn Elementary classified employee. The employee was not named in the letter, but he or she was placed on administrative leave.
