Edward Pink and Cadien Pink Wiki – Bio

Two brothers, Edward Pink, 46, and Cadien Pink, 41, who tried to smuggle guns and bullets into the UK from the US inside a microwave have been jailed.

Edward and Cadien ordered a deadly cache of weapons from an American dealer who microwaved the firearms for delivery to the UK from Florida. Four loaded pistols, including two Glock 19 Gen 5s, a Glock 17 Gen 5, and a Taurus G2C plus 59 rounds of ammunition, were hidden in the microwave. At Croydon Crown Court, Edward Pink, of Streatham, South West London, was jailed for 12 years and Cadien Pink, of Addlestone, Surrey, was sent to prison for 14 years for all offenses.

Both brothers were convicted of conspiracy to possess firearms with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to possess ammunition with intent to endanger life in their trial that ended earlier this month. All serial numbers were removed from the guns before they were shipped last June, police said. But the US Department of Homeland Security intercepted the delivery of the package from Florida and both were arrested. The package was intended for a business address in Newham, east London, before being scanned and found to contain a number of suspicious items.

Brothers jailed for trying to import US weapons into London, hidden in microwaves

The two criminals contacted their American buyers in an attempt to ship the weapons to the UK. The firearms were seized by US authorities who contacted the Met’s Specialized Crime Command and launched a joint proactive investigation. Cadien Pink denied any involvement when she was questioned by police in London. The officers had a recorded voice memo from her mobile phone in which the US contact told her that she was ordering the weapons to name her make, model, and specification. But she insisted that this discussion had nothing to do with weapons and was related to hair clippers for her mobile hair salon business.

Detective Chief Inspector Ant Jones, Met Police Specialist Crime Command, said after the sentencing: “The Met has fantastic working relationships with partner law enforcement agencies around the world. It is thanks to our work with our colleagues at HSI that we have successfully prevented several lethal weapons from falling into the wrong hands here and brought to justice those who conspired to import them for use on the streets of London. ‘I have no doubt that the functioning of this partnership means that lives will have been saved as a result. Firearms are inextricably linked to gangs, drug markets, and organized crime groups and we will stop at nothing to disrupt the use and supply of firearms on the streets of London.”

Tim Hemker, London Attaché for Homeland Security Investigations, added: “Homeland Security Investigations values its partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service and today’s rulings highlight the impact that exemplary international collaboration can have on the safety of communities through the ones we serve. HSI will continue to work with international law enforcement partners to investigate and combat transnational organized crime, such as arms smuggling, to help bring to justice criminals seeking to circumvent the law and cause harm around the world.
