Police said 26-year-old Dylan McPadden was in the smoking area of RQ’s Tavern in Robina Thursday night when a 26-year-old man walked in with a woman and a fight broke out. “As a result of that discussion, he pulled out a knife and stabbed the person once in the chest,” Mark Procter said. “The entire incident occurred in minutes, approximately 90 seconds.” McPadden was rushed to hospital, but could not be saved. Police tracked down the couple at Mermaid Beach. “We have placed a search warrant on the unit and have located several knives,” Procter said. “We will have to determine by scientific means which knife was used, whether it is actually one of the ones we seized or one we are still looking for.”
