Dion Atherton, a British father of two, fell to his death on his first overseas holiday to Spain less than a day after calling his own father to tell him how “wonderfully warm” it was.
Dion Atherton, from London, ‘fell off a balcony’ and died after spending less than a day in Spain, according to his family. Atherton’s cousin, Naomi Brooks, described his death as “absolutely devastating” and “unbelievable” for her partner Leanne Colman and the entire family. Ms. Brooks said he was particularly excited about the vacation because he had missed her trip last year because her passport didn’t arrive on time.

Writing on GoFundMe, Ms. Brooks said: “The family has since discovered that due to an oversight, there was no travel insurance at all.” This means that bringing Dion home has become extremely difficult. Dion had settled into a wonderful life with Leanne and her two daughters, and he loved spending as much time as he could with his two adorable children. “They had a great time visiting with his and they are really going to miss her dad.”
