Deshawn Thomas, 23, was charged Tuesday in the fatal shooting of David Saldana a day earlier, the St Louis Post Dispatch reports.
St Louis police have arrested Deshawn Thomas who was allegedly captured on graphic video shooting a man believed to be homeless in the head in broad daylight.

“Any homicide is unnerving,” Major Ryan Cousins of the St. Louis Police Department told the newspaper, “but for this one to happen here, right now, a lot.”
The video allegedly shows Thomas standing over Saldana as he sits on a sidewalk, loads a handgun, and then shoots the man.
“Oh my god. He just killed him,” the person filming the encounter can be heard saying.
Police said Thomas fled the scene. Officers called for backup and arrested the man as he entered a branch of the St Louis Public Library. Authorities say he was found with a gun and a bullet casing.
The confrontation that led to Saldana’s death allegedly began earlier that day at a gas station, before spilling over into the street.
Video of the incident spread quickly on social media, but was occasionally removed from Twitter due to its graphic nature.
“Twitter removed this video that I posted yesterday, so I’m going to repost it,” said one of the accounts that shared the video on social media, according to the Riverfront Times. “It doesn’t show the murder on camera, so stop censoring it.”
Missouri US Senator Josh Hawley used the incident to criticize Kim Gardner, the local circuit attorney for the city of St Louis. “Kim Gardner must go,” he wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. “Prosecute criminals”
The local official has been embroiled in controversy since an armed robbery suspect with multiple house arrest violations was behind the wheel of an accident earlier this month that forced a 17-year-old to suffer a double amputation. .
After the accident, St Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones said, “Some improvements need to be made to [Gardner’s] office,” according to KSDK.
“There are numerous attacks on our office,” Ms. Gardner said in response. “There are numerous people who have an agenda to make sure my office doesn’t succeed.”
“We are going to fight very hard for justice despite the virulence, the hate, the racist attacks, the well-known manipulation of court proceedings to make sure our office fails.”
