Denise Russo cause of death has been revealed as an accidental overdose of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The reality star, known for appearing on The X-Life, was just 44 when she tragically died in San Diego in March. She was discovered unconscious on the floor while she was at the house of one of her friends, police sources told TMZ. First responders were unsuccessful in their attempt to revive her at the scene, where authorities reportedly recovered drug paraphernalia. Now, the San Diego County Medical Examiner has told TMZ that despite “aggressive resuscitation attempts,” Denise lost her life to methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Her friend Susie Stenberg, who appeared with her on The X-Life, revealed in March that at the end of her life, Denise was living in her car. Denise, whom Susie described as “the most loving and loyal person”, allegedly contacted her and told her that he loved her one night before her death. The X-Life, which aired for just one season on VH1 in 2011, revolved around extreme athletes and the women in their lives. At the time, Denise had been involved with handsome Canadian professional figure skater Pierre-Luc Gagnon for three years. The problems in their relationship played out in front of the cameras, and by the end of the season they had decided to take a break. However, they evidently reunited afterwards and welcomed a son named Leo Wolf, who is now seven years old.
On New Year’s Eve last year, Denise posted a touching tribute to her son, whom she referred to as Lion. To my Wolf Lion, you are the reason the sun shines in the sky, the moon shines bright, is full and the stars twinkle,” she wrote. Leo you are why the world is good baby and magical. Thank you for being my son my puppy! Love of my life, no one compares to you. Denise shed some light on her warm bond with her son in an interview with tattoo magazine Inked. I love being a mom! I have a beautiful 8 year old son named Leo Wolf, children rule by the way and he is the light of my life! she sprouted. We wrestle, I do my Russian wrestler accent and hit the little mouse on the bed! Leo made life better and being his mom is a gift!’ She confessed in the same interview that she “went through a tough custody battle” but did not provide further details. Meanwhile, Susie appeared on The X-Life as the wife and marketing manager of motocross rider Jeremy ‘Twitch’ Stenberg. Twitch, whose nickname comes from Tourette syndrome, is still with Susie and shares three daughters with her.
