Daniel Talbot, 19, of the Gold Coast, passed away on Sunday with his devastated family now working to try to bring his body home. Talbot’s former teacher, Dean Harawira, said the family was still trying to get more information about what happened. “At this stage the details of his passing are a bit sketchy and the family is trying to negotiate with the coroners and the insurance companies and airlines to have Daniel repatriated to Australia as soon as possible,” Harawira said.

Tributes have poured in online for the teen, who has been remembered as a vibrant person. Friend Harlem Williams said Mr. Talbot’s death “hasn’t come yet” because he doesn’t want to believe it.”We love you bro and I can’t fathom you won’t be here to make our day,” he wrote online.”You were loud, obnoxious, super smart, super funny, a good friend, someone I always admired for his commitment and determination.” Rest easy my g.’ Caleb Upton said that Talbot would be greatly missed. I wish I could have spent more time than I did with you,” Upton said. You were always the kindest person and a true man. Her sister Edyn Talbot changed her profile picture of her to a picture of her and Mr. Talbot when they were younger on Sunday. “Please come home with me,” she wrote, along with a heartbroken emoji. Talbot worked for Padlockd Escape Rooms & Bar in Surfers Paradise, which issued a statement on Tuesday saying he had “lost one of his own”.

If he is not in a position to donate at this time, we would appreciate it if you could share it among his networks.” The fundraiser was overwhelmingly successful, reaching over $24,000 of the $30,000 goal within 17 hours of launching on Monday.
