Daniel Donnan Wiki – Bio

Daniel Donnan, a 21-year-old passed away Monday afternoon with his family by his side. He fell ill in the gym on Thursday and was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed.

The brother of a man who died three days after a cancer diagnosis has called for greater awareness of the symptoms among young people.Speaking to Belfast Live on behalf of the Donnan family, Daniel’s brother Curtis paid tribute to him and called for more awareness of cancer among young people.

Lose strength on the right side of his body

“Daniel was at the gym and he started to lose strength on the right side of his body after he got off the treadmill,” he said. “He felt his body change and he was rushed to Ulster Hospital where they did a scan on his brain which showed hemorrhaging. “Daniel had an MRI on Friday and then underwent a CT scan and ultrasound. He was diagnosed Friday night and then we lost him on Monday.”

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Ulster Hospital and also the cancer ward at City Hospital.” Curtis said there needs to be more awareness among younger men, particularly about checking themselves and recognizing the symptoms of cancer.

Daniel, from Donaghadee in Co Down, was a keen bowler who had won numerous titles with Bangor Bowling Club. Daniel was runner-up Under 25 in the Northern Ireland Bowling Association in 2018 and won the Under 18 singles in 2019, allowing him to compete in the championships. He has also won a number of home games.

He was a huge foodie

“He was a huge foodie who loved Belfast’s cafes and restaurants, but in particular The Yogurt Tree in Bangor, which was one of his favorite places. “He loved to try different foods and he was loved by his family and his friends.” Paying tribute to Daniel, Bangor Bowling Club said: “Daniel loved the bowling of him and Bangor Bowling Club.

“Anyone who knows Bangor will know how close we are to each other and he is absolutely heartbreaking to us. A talented young man and a charming gentleman on and off the green. He will be missed but not forgotten.”
