His partner, Emma Lou Lewis, was treated at hospital for an arm injury but was later released.Friends say that the young driver had passed the test ten days before the accident. A witness saw the car traveling at high speed before it “catapulted off the road” and landed “about 100 m” (328 ft) from where it began to brake. The campers heard the car flip over before rushing to help and saw the crying teen girls inside.

Staniforth and his family were staying at a packed campsite in Newgale, Pembrokeshire, on Saturday night when the blue Ford Fiesta spun out of control.Sonny was fast asleep in the tent which was crushed by the impact, but the camp owner said he was protected by his cot.His parents were socializing with other campers in a tent just ten feet away when the Fiesta with seven people inside collided with them. Two surgeons who were camping at the scene provided assistance until paramedics arrived.Mr Stainforth was flown by Coast Guard helicopter 100 miles to the University Hospital of Wales where he underwent surgery. His family, who run a catering supply business in the Welsh capital, are at his bedside.Eight other victims were taken to hospital in Haverfordwest, Carmarthen and Swansea.Police are investigating the accident at 10:30 p.m. Saturday night and is requesting dash cam footage of the Ford Fiesta traveling on the A487 between Haverfordwest and St Davids.

Locals claimed the driver only passed his test in June and was reaching speeds of 80mph when he left the village of Roch on his way to the seaside town of Newgale. The narrow road that runs between the beach and the camp is limited to 30 mph and is known as an accident blackspot. Other campers on the scene claimed three passengers in the car hit the run leaving the driver trapped inside the wreckage.Camp owner Mike Harris has given CCTV of the accident to police. He said: ‘The car literally drove into the camp, flipped over the tent and landed on top of a family having a good time.’It was the same family that had a baby in the store at the time. So everyone’s immediate concern was what happened to the baby?”When they entered the store, the crib was there and it had managed to protect the baby, which is a miracle.”Camper Fern Wilson said: ‘We helped move the car, there were a lot of young people in the car.
