Obumseli, 28, and the social media vixen had moved into the One Paraiso apartment complex on Northeast 7th Avenue in January 2022, just four months before he died in the April 3 knife attack. The couple quickly made themselves known to building staff, security, and Miami. Dade police, who had responded to the apartment nine times, including twice on the day they moved in, the lawsuit says. Clenney’s lawyers have said that she is a victim of abuse and that she was defending herself from Obumseli’s attacks when she plunged the knife into his torso. On the day of her death, Obumseli arrived at the apartment after 4:30 p.m. and the pair allegedly began fighting soon after, the lawsuit claims. A front desk attendant began receiving complaints about noise coming from his unit around 4:45 p.m. m., at which time the employee called police about a fight in the couple’s unit. The employee denied the need for doctors, the complaint says. “At 4:45 p.m. m., One Paraiso [and other security and construction entities] knew or should have known that this constituted an emergency and that they were entitled to immediate access to the unit. , given the unique circumstances of Ms. Clenney and her medical history and condition,” the lawsuit continues.

Police arrived at 5:04 p.m. “By the time Ms. Clenney finished committing her crime, at 4:58 p.m., she opened the door to her unit and security saw her and her dogs covered in blood and Mr. Obumseli was already unconscious on the floor,” the suit states. “Had the building personnel or security performed their duties when they were first notified about the fight, 2 minutes after it started, Christian Obumseli would still be alive.”
