Former MTV star Connor Smith wanted for trying to meet a girl under the age of 15 for s*x
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release stating that the investigation into Smith had begun a few weeks earlier. Smith communicated online for weeks with an undercover detective posing as a girl, according to investigators. Smith allegedly sent the undercover detective explicit photos and videos of himself during the conversations. Detectives moved to capture Smith when he arrived, but the man was able to flee and get into his car, Law & Crime reported.
Previous charges against Smith
Smith was previously arrested in Illinois after being accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in Indiana. Smith, best known for his appearance in ‘Are You the One?’ on MTV, he was charged with rape, sexual assault, and two counts of criminal confinement, according to local authorities.
The unidentified teenager was also brutally assaulted by the actor, according to documents he was able to obtain for the publication. The teen was abducted in July 2021 as she was leaving her bedroom to visit her relatives in Indiana, MEAWW reported. A spokesman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office released details about Smith’s case, revealing that the actor was arrested on December 16 in Oak Lawn, Illinois, on a warrant from Lake County, Indiana, according to the reports.
