Vaughan, the father of a four-month-old girl, was riding in the passenger seat of his girlfriend’s Kia SUV on the Katy Motorway in Houston on Thursday, April 13, at 8.30 p.m. The horrible tragedy occurred when a tyre from a landscaping-style trailer traveling in the eastbound lane fell loose and landed in the westbound lanes. The driver of the caravan did not stop, leaving the victims, witnesses, and law enforcement authorities with countless unanswered questions about what had happened. Vaughan’s girlfriend and the four-month-old infant are likely to recover.

Evan Richard, Vaughan’s uncle, expressed his sorrow over his nephew’s murder and begged witnesses to come forward to gather more information about what happened. “I’m not here to pass judgment,” he remarked. “On the night of the incident, Randell Alexander, who was driving on the motorway, recalled seeing the tyre fly off the trailer of a black vehicle with no license plate.” According to her, the tyre rolled into the HOV lane before being hit by a white pickup truck and launching into the westbound lanes. “It went straight into the windscreen like Boom!” remarked Alexander. “I saw it, I saw glass, I saw the hood pop up, and the car started spinning.” If and when they are found, the driver of the black truck will be charged with failing to stop and providing assistance, according to police. Vaughan’s aunt, Priscilla Stansell, launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for the fatherless four-month-old baby girl and to cover funeral expenses for her new nephew. GoFundMe has been able to raise $16,712 of the $30,000 target.
