Claire Orrey Wiki – Claire Orrey Biography
The woman, named locally as Claire Orrey, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene after armed police descended on her adjoining detached house, which backs onto the allotments.
Neighbors said nurse Orrey’s husband, Steve, 56, who runs his own security business, was later seen being helped out of the home with an apparent head injury following the incident early Sunday. West Mercia Police have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder. The Orreys have lived on the property in Admaston, on the outskirts of Telford, Shropshire, for 25 years and were described as “lovely people” by their neighbors. A man who lives across the street said he was woken just after 5 a.m. by the sound of officers yelling, “Armed police, open the door” and “Come out with your hands up.” West Mercia police officers then stormed through the front door, he said. Ms Orrey worked as a nurse at Rylands Nursing and Residential Home in Newport, Shropshire.
A colleague said: ‘Claire had such a warm heart, she was very, very caring. I can’t get the sound of the voice out of her head. She said that Ms. Orrey was due to work her shift on Sunday and that her managers had tried to reach her, but were unable to reach her. “They told us that she had been murdered on Sunday night,” she added. Jacqueline Orrey, Ms Orrey’s sister-in-law, told the Mail that the victim was “a fantastic person”, adding: “she was just lovely.” Mrs Orrey, from Telford, had been informed of the tragedy by her niece, but she said that it was too early for her to speak more about the tragedy. It is understood that Mr. Orrey was released from the hospital on Sunday evening.
Claire Orrey was 58 years old.
