Three officers managed to arrest the man before noticing a very strong odor of gasoline. The explosion then occurred, setting fire to the property in Les Palissards. All three officers suffered severe burns and were taken to the hospital.
Three other officers who entered the house to rescue their colleagues suffered less serious injuries, including burns to their hands. The suspect’s body was found after the fire was put out.
