Cho Kyu Song, 37, Kang Shin Young, 35, and James Cho, 3, the victims of Texas mall shooting – A Korean American couple and their 3-year-old son were among those killed in the Texas mall shooting on Saturday, while their 5-year-old son was injured.
Cho Song, Kang Young, and their younger kid James Cho were tragically murdered by gunman Mauricio Garcia, 33, while shopping at the Allen Premium Outlets, according to the Korean Consulate in Dallas. The couple’s oldest son was among the injured and is being treated at a nearby hospital, according to the consulate. The 5-year-old was the youngest of the survivors, who ranged in age from five to 61.

Aishwarya Thatikonda Killed
The devastating family news broke alongside new information about the killed victim Aishwarya Thatikonda of McKinney, who was shopping at the outlet with a friend when she was gunned down. According to WFAA and the Guardian, Thatikonda was an engineer living and working in Texas while her family — including her father, a judge — is in India. When Thatikonda didn’t answer their phone calls on Saturday, her family became concerned and learned of her death after TANA, an Indian American group that connects victims of violence in the US with their families back in India, eventually confirmed her death, according to the Guardian.
Ashoka Kolla, a volunteer with the organization, told the Guardian about the agonizing back-and-forth he had with Texas officials for more than a half-hour attempting to prove that one of the fatalities was, in fact, Thatikonda, due to the bullet damage to her body. Kolla claimed he tried to identify her using a scar over one of her eyes and the fact that she wore a single earring, as per Hindu tradition, but the officer stated it was still impossible to determine. Thatikonda’s shopping companion was among the injured. She is in good health. Kolla stated that when at the local medical examiner’s office, he encountered several family members of the Korean American victims who identified the bodies of the couple and their son.
Christian LaCour Killed
Christian LaCour, 20, a security guard at the mall who was working a shift when Garcia shot him, was the first of the shooting victims to be officially identified. Sandra Montgomery, LaCour’s grandmother, expressed her grief over the loss of her “beautiful grandson” while announcing his death. When they couldn’t reach him after Saturday’s massacre, the young man’s family members grew worried. Christian LaCour, the security guard who was killed in the shooting at Allen Texas,” Montgomery posted on Facebook. “He was such a lovely soul, 20 years old and full of dreams for the future.”I was so proud of him, and I was so glad I got to see him two weeks ago.”
Meanwhile, Irvin Walker II, 46, of Lafayette, La., was named as one of the massacre survivors on Monday. He was dropping off a friend at the mall at the time of the shooting. Walker, a business development account manager for Equifax, had planned to stop by a park when Garcia opened fire on his car, striking him twice in the chest and once in the right shoulder, according to his parents. Walker has since had surgery to remove the gunshot pieces from his body and is said to be in stable condition. According to the Allen Police Department, three of the injured individuals are in critical condition and four are in fair condition.
