Chintzia McIntyre, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene after police, paramedics and an air ambulance attended the property on Phoenix Place in Chapelford, Warrington. A local woman from the area told The Sun there was a “horrendous scene” when emergency services turned up shortly after 9.30am. on Tuesday, August 29. Ms McIntyre’s neighbors, where the average house price is around £300,000, have since paid tribute to her, describing her as a “lovely” woman. The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning where he was charged with murder. Appearing via video link from HMP Wetherby, wearing a gray prison jumper, he only spoke to confirm his name and was not asked to enter a plea. The case was referred to Liverpool Crown Court. A trial, scheduled for five days, was scheduled for January 29 of next year. Honorary Recorder of Liverpool Magistrate Andrew Menary KC remanded the youngster into custody ahead of a further hearing on November 17. Seven police cars were called to the scene on Tuesday after being called to the incident, while a police helicopter was spotted flying over the area. A blue forensic tent was soon set up at the scene and paramedics arrived by ambulance to help. People living in the area reported police knocking on doors and visiting businesses asking residents for statements and doorbell camera footage. DS Jon Betts said on Tuesday: “I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.” “There is currently an increased police presence in the local area, and I would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to an officer.” A Cheshire Police spokesman said on Thursday: “Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Warrington have charged a 17-year-old boy. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Tuesday, August 29 and has since been charged with murder. ‘The charge relates to an incident to which police were called at around 9.40am on Tuesday 29 August in Phoenix Place, Warrington. ‘Chintzia McIntyre, 48, had been seriously assaulted and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
