The Madisonville Detective Division immediately began investigating the case and determined that she was last seen alive at a home in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. Deputies from Madisonville and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office began working together to find Walker.

PEOPLE contacted the Madisonville Police Department but did not immediately hear back.

Waller added that her late friend had recently started going to church.

Walker’s aunt is raising money for funeral expenses for her and her two children at the Peoples Bank of East Tennessee under an account called “Justice for Chelsie,” Waller told the outlet.
