Caleb Pace, 20, died at 4.30 a.m. Friday in Gold Coast Hospital, surrounded by family. Caleb Pace “stopped breathing” and was rushed to the hospital where he was put on life support on Tuesday, June 20, according to a family friend. Just days later on Friday, June 23, Caleb passed away surrounded by his family. Family friend Jessica Trevor started a GoFundMe fundraising page to support the young man’s grieving family. She said Caleb’s mum Michelle had been separated from her two boys for 18 months due to the rental crisis and struggling to find a property for the three of them.

Jessica is now hoping to raise money to find Michelle and Caleb’s 19-year-old brother, Cy, a home together. She said bystanders did CPR on Caleb while they waited up to an hour for help after calling triple-0. Caleb was originally from Wollongong and was working as an apprentice electrician on the Gold Coast.
Michelle, Cy and Caleb’s father Tony said he “not only lit up the room, but the world with his infectious laugh, amazing smile, and presence in everyone’s lives”, reported the Gold Coast Bulletin. They said he was “incredibly generous, giving, caring, kind and loving soul with a heart of pure gold”. “He will always be remembered as a true angel by all who knew him and had the privilege to meet him”.
