BTB Savage, an up-and-coming young rapper, was reportedly shot and killed in Houston on March 30. The news came just hours after he posted two photos of himself standing at what appeared to be a crime scene where one of his enemies was allegedly shot to death. According to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, the victim is 26-year-old Darrell Gentry. Online reports say that he is a rapper who goes by the name of BTB Savage. Although investigators will not confirm this in the filing, an online business filing shows Gentry to be the managing member of an LLC under the name BTB Savage Entertainment. Darrell Gentry killed after an interview about a robbery gone wrong
BTB Savage, whose real name is Darrell Gentry, described what he said was a self-defense shooting in San Antonio weeks ago. He said that a man tried to rob him in his own house. Instead, he and his girlfriend fought back and killed the would-be robber. In the interview, he said he showed no mercy, saying he told the suspect, who was pleading for help, “I don’t give a damn (expletive) about you. You’re going to die.” And when the interviewer asked him if he was worried about reprisals, he said: “They may do what they do, but I’m going to get active. That’s all.”
On Thursday afternoon, BTB Savage posted two selfies on social media showing him standing in the middle of a bloody crime scene. The shooting that killed Gentry occurred around 6 p.m. on Mid Lane near River Oaks. “I can tell you there were multiple shots, as evidenced by the number of casings on the ground. We believe it was a target,” Finner said Thursday night. The victim’s white Mercedes was riddled with bullet holes and nothing. supposedly it was stolen. Two men dressed all in black and in a vehicle locked up the victim’s car, police said. They shot him and then fled. The rapper, who has a 4-year-old son, died at the scene. Gentry’s parents were notified of his death. Houston police have not announced any arrests.
