Fears are growing for four-year-old Ivianna Jordan, who was kidnapped from her home by her great-uncle Brodrick Hardman, who is wanted for first-degree murder.
Arkansas State Police issued an Amber Alert for Ivianna Jordan, who was abducted from her home in Pulaski County on Thursday. Officials said the four-year-old girl, described as highly functioning autistic, voluntarily left her grandmother’s house with her great-uncle Brodrick Hardman’s around 2 p.m. m. from yesterday. Police said Hardman now refuses to return the girl or provide details of where they are. Hardman was described as “armed and dangerous.”
Hardman, 44, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with a body found Thursday around 1 a.m. m., a spokesman for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said. Young Ivianna is described as being 3 feet tall and around 40 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. At the time she was abducted, Ivianna was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and black and white leggings. Police said Hardman is 6 feet tall, also has black hair and brown eyes, and is around 44 years old. Mr Hardman should be considered armed and dangerous,” the spokesperson said. An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 4-year-old child in Arkansas
Officers with the North Little Rock Police Department responded to Grandma’s house shortly after 6:30 p.m. m. Thursday in reference to reports of a missing child. Officers were then told that Hardman had left the home with Ivianna. Police said a cell phone belonging to Hardman pinged in the North Little Rock region, but they are still looking for him. Since then, an active amber alert has been set for Ivianna. This is an emergency response system that disseminates information about a missing child through broadcast media and electronic road signs. He specifically asks for the public’s help in finding missing children. According to the Department of Justice, an Amber Alert can only be issued if there is a “reasonable belief by police that an abduction has occurred” and that the child is in “imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death.” Police have not recorded any sighting of the girl since the alert was activated.
