Brianne Venneri, a Pennsylvania woman was arrested after severely burning her disabled boyfriend’s 10-month-old English bulldog puppy with a torch, according to police.
Jamie Wade, who had suffered a brain injury and took in his beloved “Spunky” as a therapy dog, arrived home Monday to find the poor dog in distress and covered in burns.

Wade’s friends took the dog to a vet, where she was placed on an oxygen tank. His girlfriend, Brianne Venneri, 23, was arrested Thursday by Pennsylvania State Police and charged with felony animal cruelty after she allegedly tortured the poor dog by burning all over its body, including its genital area, inside his ears, inside his mouth and stomach.
“She has cigarette burns all over her body. He has cigarette burns in his mouth, in his ears,” Wade told the news outlet. Wade had previously reported to police that Venneri was abusing her pup.
Wade’s friends launched a GoFundMe to help cover Spunky’s medical costs after receiving a bill totaling more than $9,000. The pup is receiving treatment at Cheat Lake Animal Hospital in West Virginia.
“She is on oxygen, an IV, pain medication and a catheter because she has blood in her urine,” according to a post on the fundraiser. “She might even have to have surgery to repair her private area. “
