Brian Walshe has been charged in the murder of his missing wife Ana, prosecutors announced Thursday. A Norfolk County grand jury indicted Walshe on first-degree murder, obstruction of justice and other charges, the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said, according to reports. Accused of killing her wife Ana Walshe
Walshe, 48, is accused of killing her 39-year-old wife, who disappeared from her Cohasset home on January 1, where she lived with her husband and her three young children. Authorities said they believe he killed her and dismembered her in her basement. and then he packed up her remains that were dumped in a dumpster before being cremated by garbage services. He was charged with murder in mid-January. Before that murder charge, he was already in custody on charges of hindering a police investigation into his wife. Prosecutors alleged that Walshe searched online for how to cut up and dispose of a body on January 1 and the days that followed. His body has never been found.
Investigators found surveillance video of a man resembling Walshe dumping what appeared to be heavy trash bags into a dumpster at an apartment complex in a town near Cohasset. Police tried to find those bags, but they have already been taken to an incinerator, prosecutors said. He previously told police that he last saw his wife alive in the early hours of New Year’s Day when he claimed she left for a “work emergency.” Her DC-based employer, where he often traveled during the week for work, reported her missing on Jan. 4. His lawyer said earlier in January: “I intend to win this case in court.”
