Blake Mohs, 26, a Home Depot security guard and Boy Scout leader in California was slain Tuesday while attempting to stop a lady from stealing an electrical item before she and her boyfriend escaped with their kid in the back of their car.
Blake Mohs allegedly saw Benicia Knapps stealing a phone charger from the store shelves at 2:15 p.m., according to Pleasanton police. According to police, a “struggle ensued” after Mohs pursued her to the store’s loading dock, but Knapps fired her revolver and fled. As Mohs bled inside the home improvement store, Knapps, 32, allegedly fled in a getaway car driven by her boyfriend, David Guillory, 31, with her 2-year-old child in the backseat. He was brought to the hospital but died as a result of his injuries.

Benicia Knapps and David Guillory Suspects Arrested in Blake Mohs Murder
Knapps and Guillory were apprehended by cops barely 15 minutes after the shooting in Oakland, 20 miles from the Home Depot. Knapps, a licensed security guard with a history of thievery, was charged with murder, robbery, endangering a child, and conspiracy. Guillory was detained on suspicion of child endangerment, dodging police, and driving the wrong way. According to CBS, Knapps was placed on mental hold after choking herself with a seatbelt in the back of an Alameda Sheriff’s Department police cruiser until she lost consciousness.
Cops discovered a pistol beside the store at an intersection. The toddler of the Knapps was released to relatives. According to Pleasanton officials, Mohs was an engaged community leader who wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement and was planning to marry this summer. Unfortunately, Blake’s life was cut short by this senseless act of violence that started with a theft, turned into a robbery, and ended in his murder,” Lt. Erik Silacci stated at a press conference.
“We have lost a valuable member of our community, a person who served to protect his fellow coworkers and customers and was a valuable partner with law enforcement.” Mohs’ lifelong buddy Scott Rodgers told KTVU that Mohs was a “huge volunteer” for the Boy Scouts of America even after he had left the organization. Mohs and his fiancee had even planned to marry in August at Camp Royaneh in Cazadero along the Russian River, where they met while volunteering with the Scouts. He’s an incredible person,” stated Rodgers. “Everyone adored Blake.”
