Belinda Miller, 50, a Georgia woman allegedly drove her vehicle into a Popeyes restaurant on purpose after they mistakenly left cookies out of her order, according to authorities.

Belinda Miller was charged with first-degree criminal damage to property and aggravated assault. Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the Popeyes location on Walton Way in Augusta after receiving reports of an accident involving injuries.

Vehicle crashes into Popeyes after cookies were missing from order

The store manager told police that Miller was upset when she discovered there were no cookies with her order and that she then drove her SUV into a restaurant driveway.

The manager said the restaurant corrected the mistake and gave him the cookies before the accident. The manager also said that the woman threatened staff before the incident, she even called the store and threatened to drive her car into the building.

Miller nearly hit an 18-year-old employee with her vehicle when she crashed into the store. She continued to drive to the store until her vehicle was stopped by debris, according to the arrest warrants.

The woman fled the scene after hitting the restaurant and headed south on Gordon Highway. Her SUV was later found at her home with front-end damage.

The woman was booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center on Wednesday and granted bond of more than $4,000, though it is unclear if she remains in custody.
