Cause of Death
Asher reportedly died as a result of a congenital heart problem he had experienced since birth. He was born on June 17, 2021, and had open heart surgery a week later, on June 24, 2021. He was kept in the NICU for strict observation because of his condition. His mother, Melissa Koh Chen, took tremendous effort to treat and control his illness over time. Asher’s oxygen levels abruptly plummeted on March 30, 2023, and Melissa Koh Chen hurried him to the hospital where he was treated. But tragically, he died a few days later, leaving his parents inconsolable. A prayer session for the late child will take place at 8 PM on Saturday and Sunday, April 8 and 9, 2023, at the Church of St. Mary of the Angels (La Verna Chapel). The funeral will take place on April 10, 2023, at 2:30 PM. The cremation will take place at 5 PM at the Mandai Cremation Hall.
