Andrew Wilkinson, a Maryland judge, was shot to death in his home Thursday night and police have not announced any arrests in the shocking crime. Washington County Circuit Court Judge Wilkinson was found in the driveway of his Hagerstown home around 8 p.m., according to local reports and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Wilkinson, who suffered gunshot wounds, was taken to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Cause of Death
The sheriff’s office has not yet reported any arrests or released any suspect description. The motive for the murder is unclear. Former state representative Neil Parrott confirmed the judge’s death on Day X. “Horrible news in Washington County tonight. It appears Judge Andrew Wilkinson was shot several times and passed away,” he tweeted. “The police are actively searching for the killer. Please pray for our police and Judge Wilkinson’s family at this time.” According to ABC 7 News, Maryland State Police have been sent to other judges’ homes to provide protection.
