Andre Longmore, 40, was killed in a chase Sunday afternoon, according to Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett. The shot also injured a Henry County deputy and a Clayton County police officer, who are reportedly conscious. The deputy, however, is being airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. Police say Longmore opened fire on residents of Hampton’s Dogwood Lakes division, killing three men and a woman before fleeing Saturday. The identities of the victims have not been released. At a news conference Saturday, Hampton Police Chief James Turner said detectives were investigating at least four crime scenes that are in close proximity to one another. He declined to discuss a possible motive. The first call about the shooting came around 10:45 a.m. m. in the Dogwood Lakes subdivision of Hampton Hampton, a small city of about 8,000 about 30 miles from Atlanta, Georgia.
In that case, neighbor Frankie Worth said he heard a shot as he was going to his living room window to open the blinds and figure out how much he could do in the yard. After hearing a gunshot, he said he crouched down “for just a second” and then looked back out the window. “You know, when you come in, you have to know where you’re coming from,” Worth, a Marine Corps veteran, told the Associated Press. He said he saw Andre’s hands shaken from the recoil of a silver pistol.

The suspect appeared to have fired at a small white car driven by another neighbor whom Worth described as an “older white gentleman.”He said the shooting occurred at the edge of a cul-de-sac, with Longmore about 12 feet away as the car sped away. At first, Worth said he thought he was witnessing a road rage incident, but said Longmore was moving too deliberately. The suspect appeared to assess whether he needed to fire again, Worth said, and then “began to walk casually” toward the subdivision entrance before picking up his pace to a “quick pace.” After the shooting, Longmore fled in a black GMC Acadia. Speaking directly to Longmore at the press conference, Turner said: “Wherever you are, we’ll hunt you down whatever hole you hide in and take you into custody.” Period.’ Longmore had been wanted on four separate warrants for his arrest.
