Alice Williams, 9, was at a pedestrian crossing in Halifax, West Yorkshire when she was tragically struck by a black Vauxhall Corsa. Emergency services rushed to the scene of the fatal collision on July 8 at 11 a.m., but she later died in hospital after sustaining serious injuries. A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving but has been released on bail.
A family spokesperson said Alice was a “bright, loving and beautiful child, bringing joy to her family and friends every day.” They added: “We miss her desperately and will never be able to comprehend her shocking death.” In a tribute, Alice’s Principal Jenna Walker at St Mary’s Catholic Primary Academy also released a statement. Ms Walker said: “Alice was a genuinely lovely child. She was gentle, warm-hearted and full of smiles. Her loss has left a huge void in our school and community, and we will continue to remember and honor her life. Our Thoughts and prayers are with his family.’

Alice Williams Death: Police Investigation Report
West Yorkshire Police detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident, who has not yet spoken to police, to come forward. The crash happened just after 11 a.m. in King Cross Street, near the junction with Park Road, and involved a black Vauxhall Corsa. The detective urged, in particular, anyone driving away from Halifax in the opposite direction or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
