The Irmo Police Chief said: “Based on information gathered at the scene, it appears the suspect and victim did not know each other, however they were involved in a verbal altercation just prior to the shooting.” He further said: “This is a situation where tempers flared and someone let their anger get the best of them. A hasty decision has impacted the lives of two families and many others who witnessed this tragic event.” “The suspect fled the scene in a white Ford. While investigators were still on the scene, the suspect called dispatch and said that she was at the Police Department to turn herself in,” she added.
Alexandria’s death came just a week after she lost her brother. Tyler remembers Alexandria as “the best wife you could ask for,” saying, “she built a really strong support system.” One of Alexandria’s former co-workers, nicknamed Sunni, told WIS TV: “It’s really sad that you take a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife for something so meaningless.” Alexandria and Sunni worked together in a Columbia doctor’s office for many years. Alexandria was a cosmetologist who was considering pursuing a nursing degree.
Tyler launched a GoFundMe where she wrote: “We are not looking for personal donations or financial help. But there have been enough people asking so I would like to use the funds raised to build a memorial for Alexandria in honor of a great soul.” Whether it’s something small, a park fee, or whatever we can do, anything extra will go to a future fund to benefit our son.
