Alexander De Jager and Maximus Wiki – Bio

This is the heartbreaking moment two brothers Alexander De Jager, 9, and Maximus, 7, laughed and joked together while taking part in a ‘bitter dare’ video just days before they were found dead with their mother Nadja.

Seven-year-old Maximus and nine-year-old Alexander were found dead with their mother Nadja de Jager, 47, inside their home in Mayfield Road, Belvedere, near Bexleyheath, south-east London. Ms de Jager, who is known to have worked as the managing director of a local real estate company, described herself on Facebook as a “single mother of two beautiful children, a professional who loves to travel and exercise.

The emotional five-minute video, uploaded to YouTube just 11 days before his tragic death, illustrates the special bond the two brothers had as they entertained viewers with their hilarious reactions to eating sour candy. Max opened up the motion video by saying, “Hey guys, it’s Max and Alex with another video.” They then sweetly hugged each other and showed off their toy puffins for the camera before diving into the challenge. The brothers, who had also filmed a ‘Mint Challenge’ nine months ago, warmed the hearts of viewers by making faces and jumping up and down as they hilariously reacted to treats ranging from Skittles Giants Crazy Sours Sweets to lemon wedges.

In a sweet moment towards the end of the video, the brothers in sync ranked the lemon the sourest and the Skittles Sours the tastiest. Big brother Max ended the clip by saying, ‘Bye, see you in the next video!’ Tragically, there would be no video uploaded later.

Statements from the neighbors of Nadja de Jager

A neighbor told MailOnline: ‘I didn’t know [Ms. De Jager] well, just to say hello, but she was always smart and her children have well looked after. In the summer the children played happily in the garden. God knows what happened. He added that the family appeared to be recently preparing to move but later changed his mind. A couple of weeks ago it looked like they were going to move. He has drawn the curtains and thrown away a bunch of old toys,” he said. And then everything returned to normal.

Another neighbor told how the family had moved to the quiet residential street about five years ago but had not fully integrated. She said: ‘She moved away about five years ago. He always greeted her, but she didn’t really want to go any further.

The mother of two, Bukky Adekoya, shared the sentiment of shock at the murders of the children. She told MailOnline: ‘It’s really very sad to think that something like this could happen on my street. ‘I just found out what happened and I’m totally shocked. I have two children and I can’t imagine that this could happen here. It is a very nice place to live. It is quiet and there is a park at the end of the street where children can play.’

Another neighbor, who gave his name only as Victor, added: ‘This is a tragedy. This is a very safe and happy place to live. Children can play safely outside their houses or in the park down the street. This is a highly sought-after location. If someone puts their house up for sale, they leave very quickly.
