Aidan Ralph, a football player for Iowa State has been detained on suspicion of raping a woman while she lay motionless on stairs in his home after pushing her so forcefully that she cracked her spine.
In connection with the alleged attack at his Ames residence at roughly 1 a.m. on December 3, Aidan Ralph, a 20-year-old linebacker and redshirt sophomore from Chicago, was detained on Wednesday on Story County felony sexual assault and misdemeanor domestic violence charges.

Aidan Ralph Arrested: Iowa State football player accused of raping an injured woman
A police complaint claims that Ralph accused the woman of cheating and repeatedly shoved her, once onto the stairs. The woman was rendered immobile as a result of the injury, and she begged Ralph to dial 911, according to the police report. The affidavit states that despite her pleading with him to stop, he persisted and instead raped her while lying on top of her.
Ralph was granted an $11,000 bond, given a public defender to represent him, told not to speak to his accuser, and the next court date in the matter was set for May 15. On Thursday, calls to the Story County office of the Iowa Public Defender were automatically disconnected. On Thursday, Ralph stayed behind bars. Ralph has left the football team at Iowa State, according to the athletic department.
