Adam Bockhodt, a 34-year-old father was stabbed to death in an apartment complex while visiting his paralyzed fiancée for whom he was caring.
At 8 p.m. on Saturday, emergency personnel were called to a building on Surrey Rd in the inner Melbourne neighborhood of South Yarra and found Adam deceased. Mr. Bockhodt, who resided in the southeast suburb of Ripponlea, is believed to have been stabbed while standing in the doorway of his girlfriend’s unit at the public housing complex, which is infamous for drug dealing, according to residents.

South Yarra stabbing: Adam Bockhodt Killed
A 17-year-old male from Frankston in Melbourne’s south-east is now supporting police with their investigations. Mr. Bockhodt, who was caring for this wheelchair-bound girlfriend, was assisted by friends following the stabbing but died before medical services arrived.
Jorge Gamba, who lives in the South Yarra building, told the Herald Sun the couple had a strong relationship. Adam was a good person,’ he said. Many times I had a conversation with this lovely young fella. He was always friendly, and always available to say hi. No one ever had any complaints about him.’ Other residents expressed concerns for Mr. Bockhodt’s family. One said she knows he has a child and a cat and expressed concern as to who would look after them.
Another resident claimed that the block was overrun with drug dealers who openly worked on two levels. The resident claimed that going out after 4 p.m. is dangerous and that he had frequently reported occurrences to the police, who did not respond. Four different cases of suspected stabbings have occurred in Melbourne in the last week.
